Teaching As a Passion

My piano skills began by plunking out “Row, Row, Row, Your Boat” on a tiny Playskool piano. At that point, it was clear that piano studies needed to be integrated into my life.

I began teaching at Creative Sounds in Houston, Texas in 2005. This began the slow realization that teaching piano is a perfect combination of my love for working with children and my passion for music.  Since that realization, I have earned my degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Piano Performance with emphasis in Pedological Studies. Currently, my studio in Jersey Village, Texas is growing rapidly and I look forward to meeting and instructing any potential students that come my way.

There is power in music; It has a way of uniting groups of people in a way mere words can not. This belief has fueled my passion for teaching because I want many people to be captured by the mysterious power in music, as I have.

It is my belief that the music itself should motivate the student to learn. With this being said, I believe it is crucial that the student plays music that is interesting to their unique taste. Positivity is essential, but it must be balanced with the urgent need and desire for productive practice. Parental involvement is strongly encouraged in order to back up these ideas provided within the piano lesson time.

"As a teacher, my goal is to instill a love for music into each student and for this love to be displayed through mature musical expression on the piano."
